24 minutes of power pop played just as it should be: with blistering chug, anthemic choruses, and hooky lead lines (and don’t forget the occasional ballad). Songs that depict punk visions of crumbling cities, mid-20s malaise and boredom but without any nihilistic defeatism.

There’s a clarity and conciseness to these tracks that recalls the heavy hitters of the genre (The Nerves, The DBs, etc) with a kinda first two Eno solo albums studio frenzy, while to my ear also evoking some of the ‘verbed out strum of classic local favourites Woollen Kits and Bed Wettin’ Bad Boys.
