The obverse/front side of this coin depicts in 3D a shiny gold, official RTC San Diego emblem with a beautiful sandblasted shiny gold finish.

Depicted on the reverse/back side are the USA and USN flags, a lone male sailor, since only males were trained at San Diego, the USS Recruit (aka USS Neversail, the years in service (1923-1993)*, an ever-present seagull, and the infamous words of the sign that greeted all new recruits: “WELCOME ABOARD.  YOU ARE NOW MEN OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY.” 

Truly a great looking commemorative medallion that's sure to bring back memories of Navy days gone by.
