First Light Helianthus

Provides late-season gardens with an explosion of cheery yellow flowers! First Light Helianthus, also called a perennial sunflower, grows just 3-4 feet tall with a compact, clump of fuzzy linear leaves. At maturity, the plant can produces hundreds of flowers on upright, self-supporting stems. Bees and butterflies love it! If the flowers are left on the plant, the seedheads provide food for birds. This easy-care perennial is drought tolerant, once established, and deer tend to pass it by. Hardy to zone 6, it should be planted in a protected area in colder zones. Performs best in full sun.
